DOA5 had a free version with a handful of free characters and a system where you could buy any addition ones you want for $4-6. DOA6 will also have a free version later, likely June.

I suppose they could adopt the new KT way of making a free version of a game, with a weekly character rotation and you can buy a permanent access to some characters, like with DoA 5, Dynasty Warriors 9 and supposedly Dissidia.
For someone like me who rarely play more than 2 or 3 characters in their games, I think this is a good thing.

Looks like costume parts are being fixed. Seems like they’re being boosted to 10x for base amount (permanent?) and the 10x bonus til March 14 stacks for 100x total. Additionally you’ll only make costume part progress on the character you’re using instead of random ones. Until then, the temporary 100x rate for random costume method is a fair bandaid.
