Which browser do you use as your daily driver and why?

Currently using Firefox since I'm not huge fan of the idea of completely giving up internet to Google, but with 72.0.1 I've started getting "slow startup" messages which are driving me nuts and considering jumping ship to Vivaldi or just embracing the new Overlord and use Chrome, although it's lacking many features I require so Vivaldi seems more likely.
Giving Firefox time to redeem themselves with 73 though.

I use both Chrome and Edge fairly evenly.

Chrome: General browsing. Anything but video.

Edge: Anything with video.

I likely actually look at Edge more because of its use but if I had to only use one it'd be Chrome and I'd just grumble.

Firefox, it works fine so I cant be bothered to try other browsers.

Pale Moon for general browsing, Vivaldi for video and Firefox for Reddit.

I'm crazy and I know it.

Used Vivaldi for a few years, I'm currently on Brave.

I like Chrome but I don't use it because I try to stay as Google-free as possibile (only use Youtube).

I use Firefox on Linux though.

Did one switch to Firefox from NetScape?:D Can't remember, or was internet explorer something one used for awhile?

honestly i can't even remember what i was using before firefox ... i switched to ff in like 2004, so it's been a while :P (and it definitely wasn't chrome, since that one came out 4 years later, lol)

Yeah, I'm trying to remember but yeah I think people generally went from NetScape to Internet Explorer to then go to FireFox.

Interesting to see Firefox take the lead and Vivaldi seems to be liked by its users too.
People who use Chrome, do you not use or have extensions for the lacking features? I took a look but couldn't find proper mouse gestures for Chrome (Vivaldi has these build in), some were by scummy people tracking your data or plain dead projects that don't work too great. And just curious if Google actually does disable the API that lets Adblockers work, are you going to change or just stick with it?

Firefox plus these add-ons.

Have to pry it from my cold dead hands before I try any other browser. I grew up with Firefox, and I'm oddly attached to software from my childhood. (Still using Winamp over any other media player too LOL.)

Waterfox since Firefox moved to the Quantum abomination with no storage for extensions. Chrome I use occasionally but that piece of software has no respect for memory or regard for being even the least bit efficient.

Chrome. I'm not a fan, but I've been using it ever since Opera 12 stopped working with most sites. I miss old Opera so bad...

Me too, I used Opera 12.10 until HTML5 started being everywhere and it became just too slow to use.

On Firefox I've got 2 add-ons:
Gesturefy
uBlock Origin

Mouse gestures are something I can't live without.

Edge Chromium seems to have come along nicely

the slick presentation and slew of useful native tools won me over

Work: Firefox Nightly, IE11, Edge, Chrome
Home: Firefox, Edge if sites don't like Firefox.

Probably try Edge Chromium for compatibility checking at work soon.

So while we're talking about which browsers we use, do any of you guys have addon recommendations? Both for mobile Firefox and desktop.

I used Netscape in the 90s, then some Internet Explorer before I switched to Opera. I stuck with that for many years until version 13 came along and removed all the features that I had come to like and rely on in my daily browsing. I then used Firefox, but I never really liked it (and I still don't). When Vivaldi came along, I started using that. It's great, and I use it everywhere now, including the Android version on my phone. I usually have Opera and Firefox as backup browsers installed in case something doesn't work with Vivaldi, but that rarely ever happens.

Netscape?, lol!
I was using NCSA Mosaic when "high bandwidth" meant you had 4 gifs and 2 jpegs on your page and you could buy books listing websites to visit. 👴
If you wanted the full internet experience you had to use FTP, Web, Telnet and GopherSpace.

I'll just leave this here for the old people - ftp.funet.fi - Thanks Finland!

I mainly use Chrome on desktop/laptop/mobile due to long use of their bookmarks, syncing between devices, saving account details for less important accounts, and expectation of a baseline experience.

I use Firefox Nightly to have access to extensions on mobile (Ublock Origin, essential, and "Dark Background and Light Text", super lightweight in my experience). I also use Opera GX on desktop/laptop to experiment with their built-in picture-in-picture and resource use capping features (Chromium-based). I do have Firefox as a backup browser on desktop/laptop but don't generally use it.

I used Safari on the iMac G3s and later on both iphone 3gs and 4, god knows what on my dad's IBM in 97, and Internet Explorer when using school systems during K through 12 education.

I was going to try firefox, as a matter of fact it was the first browser I installed when I built my first pc, and my pc hard froze and it freaked me out, so I never returned to it lol, my pc never froze once ever since for the past 6 years so I didn't bother.
