Oh yeah, I'm only ten hours in right now (haven't had time to play since Thursday), and I already think that one Kotaku article was pretty off-base.

I guess that on their defense I could say that the game is actually very good at creating a certain expectation for one of the factions and then breaking it down, but to be honest, that had already started to happen during my first 10 hours, so unless they spent most of their 10 hours doing something else, I don't really get how they arrived at the conclusions they did.
Outward is a lot more open, and also is more of a survival game in many aspects. This game is similar to Bioware's better games, with companion questlines, etc. I guess the best comparison would be to a version of Dragon Age Inquisition that wasn't designed like an MMO filled with fetch quests and crappy (in my opinion) story beats.
GreedFall is dialogue and quests heavy, like BioWare games. Outward is gameplay and survival heavy, with very few quests.

Loving the game so far, I'm not very far into it, though. I've explored one of the first avaialble areas after arriving in New Serene. I think I found a good balance for combat now: I use magic to cast Stasis on all enemies except one, then just kill everything one by one, re-casting Stasis as needed. It's the only approach I found where my companions are not murdered in 2 seconds (they apparently lack the abilities to parry and evade 
).
I also finally figured out what made my game so grainy: Dynamic Resolution. I thought setting it all the way to the left would disable it, making the game always run at 1440p, which would lead to better IQ, as it does in games like Quantum Break.
However, the games is much better with Dynamic Resolution all the way to the right. It's still grainy of course, but much less so, and there's a lot more detail.

I spent around another 5 hours with the game last night.
The sidequests are still solid, but I do feel like I'm getting a little weighed down by a sense of "Every faction here sucks ass," so I'm curious how the plot/quests carry you through that.

About 18 hours in. Story is pretty interesting, and I've finally run out of sidequests, so I guess I need to progress the story.
It's pretty amazing. Also just 6 million euros and they delivered something that feels way bigger even if there's jank here and there. I can't wait for the next Spiders game now.
It's not a bug, her quest requires a lot more progress in the main quest than the others (I also originally thought it was a bug until it resumed).
Oh, I realized it wasn't a bug after I Googled it.
I just thought the pacing was a little funky since it seems like I'm going to be done with everyone's and just waiting around for hers at this point.
Yeah, I've also just unlocked Kurt's and Vasco's quests earlier. They don't show up until you progressed certain main story quests.
Is there a way to "wait" 5 hours of game time for example? Or is sleeping the only way? For example in Skyrim you can just say "wait 5 hours" to progress the game time. I hate quests that say "come back in 2 days!" but then I have 20 other quests to do I cant keep track of the time!
Looks like a patch is coming in few days in qa test on steam dB now
I'm not sure about that quest because I slept to pass the time and did the quest right away, but later on there are actually quests with a timer and you can just wait in game time, but those in general have a timer you can check so I'm not sure they share the same rules.
I am loving Steam's 'shiny' cheevos :3 Granted the older the game fewer cheevos would be earned with this but I'll enjoy it while it lasts

I've had a crash once in my 50 hours of playthrough, so I remember it clearly. It was when I go outside of a governor's office in Theleme.

Good news about patches. Now i'm unsure whether to pick-up my existing save or wait for patches and see if i have to start again. I've not noticed any issues and the only crash i've had was due to bios issues on my mobo which are now fixed.
I was about to say i didn't know there was DLC for Greedfall and yeah, it's because it's new, ha.
