12. Nirvana- In Utero

2. Weezer- The Blue Album
1. Weezer- Pinkerton

If this thread picks up steam, I'll add write-ups/little reviews for this list, as I know it's a little different from most '90s lists. Also, there are many incredible albums from this wonderful musical decade that I simply haven't listened to that I plan on hearing at some point, so my list may change in the future. The '90s was a fantastic decade for music, so it's hard to listen to every classic album from that time period when there are so many to choose from.

What about you fine ladies and gents? What are your favorite albums from the decade?

That’s a solid list.

I’d have to make room for:

Archers of Loaf - Icky Mettle (they can go toe-to-toe with Pavement for god-tier indie rock)
The Breeders - Last Splash (better than the Pixies, possibly...)
Bastard - Wind of Pain (monster Japanese hardcore album... perfect front to back and back to front)
Propagandhi - How to Clean Everything (this is what made me a jaded leftist)
Duster - Stratosphere (space rock for bad headspaces)
A Tribe Called Quest - The Low End Theory (enough said)

Nailing down 30 is hard because there were at least 300 amazing releases in the 90s.

Brilliant list, here's a few of mine;

What's the Story? Morning Glory
Mechanical Animals
Use Your Illusion
Urban Hymes
Nevermind
Definitely Maybe
Cypress Hill
The Chronic

Nirvana- In Utero
Smashing Pumpkins - Gish
Bif Naked - Bif Naked

No one mentions Placebo! Released two great albums in the 90s. Probably the only music I still listen to from my youth.

Saw this in MTV and been a fan since.

Other than that good mentions with Primus, Smashing Pumpkins and Nirvana. Though I mostly was about Swedish Punk. Here a sample from my favorite bands. (Singing about the rise of fascism, song more relevant than ever.)

My top three would most definitely be...

Nas - illmatic
Radiohead - OK Computer
A Tribe Called Quest - The Low End Theory

Beyond then it's harder to order but ones that immediately spring to mind, in no particular, are

Pearl Jam - Ten

NIN - The Downward Spiral
Wu Tang Clan - Enter the 36 Chambers
OutKast - Aquemini
Rage Against The Machine - Rage Against The Machine
Smashing Pumpinks - Infinite Sadness
DJ Shadow - Endtroducing

List goes on. Great decade for music, and in particular rock and hip-hop.

It’s 2 years shy of being a 90s album but it’s Shane McGowan’s birthday and it’s the best Christmas song, so:
