Community MetaSteam | February 2026 - Romeo and Rogue: Dead Citadel Requiem

Requiem with only an 88 on Metacritic.

Subtract 5 more points for Leon bias and 5 more for general overhyped new release bias..

Trim off another 3 points for the excessive marketing..

And its a 75.

Looks like another middle of the road Capcom game.

They've definitely fallen off..

A bit concerning I would say.

The only RE I have played (and completed 100%) is RE5... I should correct that. :D
I feel like I should do the same. The only REs I've completed are RE2R and RE4R even though I have most of the RE games. The next one I'll probably complete is RE9. At this rate it looks like I might be a closet Leon fanboy.

I was serious about RE6, Its right up there as a favourite.

Reason being is that its the last RE that was more action than horror and i just can't handle the more scary later games. Graphics have got too good, i can't take it.
The original RE1 & 2 were fine as i played them back in the day, mostly with mates at uni and they aren't really that scary. 4 shifted to the action type stuff and 6 seems like the culmination of that direction. 6 was the perfect blend of ridiculous story, crazy set pieces, variety of playable characters,

I played 7 a bit and just found it too scary, same with 8, they just didnt do it for me.

I'm happy the series did pivot back to horror though, as it seems like 6 isn't well thought of and if 7 had been more of that type it may have killed the franchise. We might not have got the remakes of 2&3 which i did actually play and enjoy, probably because of the nostalgia.

Great series all round, something for everyone.

ah okay, I understand! thanks for writing this :)
and thats true, after RE6 they shifted back to horror; but you can see they try to find a balance with each game. Even RE7 has some silly over the top action towards the end (and in one of the DLCs with Chris Redfield).

did you play the RE4 remake? I think it was way less horror-leaning than RE7 or Village. (Im not good at judging how scary something might be to others, tho)

Dont hate me, but by the time RE 6 came I had zero interest in RE, so much so that it took me some time to play RE7 and only after hearing how great it was. Now I would count RE7 my favorite RE and 8 close second.
