Persona 5 Strikers takes players on an epic road trip with the Phantom Thieves, where they strike back against the corruption overwhelming cities across Japan. So this is a sequel for Persona 5? Or Persona Royal? It's standalone?

I don't know a thing about the differences between these games/editions

This is a sequel to Persona 5 vanilla as it doesn't take into consideration the additions of Persona 5 Royal. (the new character and semester)

This happens after the finale of Persona 5.

A direct (canon) sequel to Persona 5 Classic. Royal is also canon but the additions arent acknowledged. Atlus touts it as a standalone game you can play without the original but honestly you probably should play the OG game first.

Royal and Strikers were developed concurrently, and even though both games share some of the same writers, it wasn't possible for the Royal content to be referenced since the script was in a constant state of flux (seriously there is a buttload of cut Royal content that never saw the light of day).

FWIW, Classic and Royal have essentially the same end point, they just reach it in different ways.

I got a really great breakdown by C-Dub last week. You should read it if you want to know more about the series

Hopefully something juicier leaks next time, like some new mainline Persona game ports.
