Seems to me that at least the makers of pixelating apps need to make the selected pixel per area deterministic (random at start, but deterministic for a given area as long as the window is pixelized) for the window. This is basically implemented cryptography incorrectly.
Won't help if you're doing it in post-processing of a video. Not sure if that was the case here.
To fully appreciate why this is the best thing ever you need to (i) be familiar with peak early-00 Touhou internet culture, (ii) frequently use DB, and (iii) speak German, so it's quite niche. But it's also fantastic and I had to post it.

That sounds like one of their infamous pointless changes that that they only made to try and justify their exec and management jobs and say to shareholders "Look we're INNOVATING Wooooooo!" and that everyone actually hates aside from the corpo bootlickers.
