|OT| This is a miniature painting thread

So been painting away, slowly at times. But trying to get at least 30 minutes a night. A pro-miniature painter once told me that 30-60 minutes a night is better for your skill than doing an 8 hour session once a week.

So the first guy is one of three Mutilators.

However my sanity can only take so much trim, so I went to the other end of the Space Marine spectrum. I actually wanted to paint some custodes I had but couldn't find them. So I ended up doing a brassy gold marine instead. As I understand it this is the colour of the Minotaurs Space Marine Chapter.

I am back on to the the second of the Mutilators. But when I finish that I am probably going to drop onto Gramps himself for the Gundam Assemble miniatures, The RX-78-2, The third Mutilator (they are a squad of three) and then it is time to kill myself with toxic fumes as I try my hand at painting a full blown Gundam. I want to have a play with my airbrush set-up and some Laquer based paints.

Back with more updates.

I have been continuing work on my Iron Warriors.

So I have been working on my Demon Prince. Started painting it like 2 or 3 years ago, got the skin done, but never finished it. So tried to sort that out. Also been doing touch up work on the trim of the marines I had already painted.

Had Vashtorr since release but had done nothing with him (this is a lot more common than you think). So got him assembled and started painting.

So, I had been painting World Eaters (the red dudes with the big helmets), then to keep my sanity I moved back onto my Iron Warriors (silver dudes with the hazard stripes) and now to keep my sanity I have been painting Death Guard.

Normally painted in a sickly green, I always loved their Heresy era armour. The lore is they kept their armour unpainted (the white is meant to represent the military decorum) however as they fell to chaos and then fled into the warp as the forces of chaos lost the heresy their armour became corrupted through nurgle. The new armour colour was a sickly green to represent the contagion they had.

Out of all the marines they show their corruption the most, with tumorous growths, tentacles and pustules. It makes them fun to paint.

So this scheme is more in keeping with the 30K version of the Death Guard. But the armour has been patinaed.

Chaos Marines are not beginner painter friendly yet also quite forgiving at the same time. Battle damage, patina and grime can cover a multitude of sins.

I still need to do some Thousand Sons and Emperors Children from the more unique Chaos Marines.
