As the threat of Chaos looms over the horizon, heroes from across the Old World must band together and drive back the Dark Gods.
Journey across the Fantasy Battles universe with up to four friends in local and online co-op. Warhammer: Chaosbane is coming to Xbox One, PS4 and PC on June 4th, 2019.

In a world ravaged by war and dominated by magic, you must rise up to face the Chaos hordes. Playing solo or with up to four players in local or online co-op, choose a hero from four character classes and prepare for epic battles wielding some of the most powerful artefacts of the Old World.

Cool, let's hope it's one of the good GW games. There seem to have been quite a few lately.
 
ive pre ordered this.

also for anyone unaware, this is done by the van helsing devs and are releasing a huge 2.0 overhaul on tuesday

basically making it more arpg diablo/path of exile orientated.

might be worth checking that out if your on fence for chaosbane too (it sounds like chaosbane may have some big issues that martyr had but is now fixing)

tbh i was pretty hyped for martyr until their comments about offline mode which pissed me to the point of cancelling preorder :-/ Also for diabloish game .WH fantasy fits more than 40k for me
Chaosbane is supposedly from the "How to Survive" devs which was preety OK
 
Hmm, anybody could tell us more about the quality of Martyr ?

I see it is pricey even on grey market sites, and a lot of the bad reviews I (barely) skimmed seem to point to a dev that likes to nickel and dime its player base, with a ton of little mission DLC and an expac announced when the base game is still under heavy criticism.

But I would gladly take input from someone on Meta, so if you have played this game, please share your opinion about it.

I mean, a W40KARPG, you want it to be good :drinking-blob:

Me and texhnolyze have both played the game its alright but this 2.0 patch is literally changing the whole gameplay of the game. Like before it was a semi cover arpg its now a straight up diablo van helsing arpg

Martyr was onsale recently for half price as well, of course I got the dates wrong and ended up missing it doh. However there's also a stand alone expansion releasing on the same as the 2.0 changes and I'm hoping we get a 'complete' edition with all DLC by the end of the year.

Tbh, Martyr gameplay was fine and I didn't really have issue with it. My main problem with the game is the repetitive mission loop & design. I hate it that it's mission based and you mostly get loot at the end of each one (they're randomized to boot!). While there are basically unlimited number of missions (as they're randomized), following the critical path requires some grinding as there's a gear score requirement for each. Not sure if those are fixed now.
 
Mmh, please excuse me if I'm mistaken, but the dev for Chaosbane is not the same as the one for Martyr.

I brought up martyr because it is same genre as this game same universe and has a massive update few days before chaos bane and going by beta testers chaos bane is gonna be huge disappointment

Loooool they announced today patch day and expansion release day that its being delayed by a month for patch and 2 months for dlc

To be honest I was tempted to buy it but one of their last youtube video update was pathetic. The game was uninteresting to watch and they seemed super super not ready for this big overall.
 
Sucks to hear that it seems things aren't going well. I was hoping this would end up being good.
