I'd rather user battle tested, standardized messaging protocols, I've been burned by all the platform-switching, and would rather switch to a federated one, like email. This means people are free to use the client they want, and connect with people on other servers, protecting users from a single server provider (and client developments) closing the shop down.

I wish IRC supported VoIP, and better federatrion, but it's stuck in the past and it's taking too long to get modernised. At this point the only 2 options I find reasonable, even if they are not perfect are xmpp and matrix.

Matrix has a discord-like client: Commet | Your space to connect and people are rallying to get other clients missing features like VoIP.

For XMPP I don't know any discord-like clients, but it's more than battle tested, being the original protocol for whatsapp and google chat (the chat in gmail, before google decided to go crazy with chat services)

IIRC you had to force downsample and stuff to get the actual 3D portions of the visuals to look cleaner but I haven't played the PC version in years and likely forgot.
I downsampled from 1080p on Deck to remove aliasing on portraits, but otherwise I never really had any issue with the game.

But I played it on PC a while back too, so maybe I’m misremembering.

Yea this is how I tested it on Deck as well when I was trying to get better IQ, but I feel like 1080p downsampled was not close to a locked 60 on Deck. Did you play at 30/40?

I think the game's aesthetic is just like that and this mod potentially completely cleans up the 3D aspects that either were low res in parts/post-processed/ or a bit soft?

I think I got 40fps at 1080p on Deck. I remember being happy with the downsampling - it still performed better and looked sharper than on Switch.

Yea Switch 1 was rough + subnative and it looks worse on S2 bc now since even the UI was not great back on S1.

Roblox is just scary.

Also I liked the implication that less time is being spent on video games in general due to gambling and OnlyFans.

15 years of Humble Bundle. Going to be a bundle every month celebrating. First one is out

Maybe I’m blind, but doesn’t Persona 5 run pretty flawlessly on potato PCs already?

Not really about the performance but the AA really, their engine only have fxaa/smaa and the 200 res scale in p5 introduce more aliasing. Even DLSS performance looks better than the other AA options (at 4k)

Good to know, and good to hear it’s been fixed by the community.

Funny enough it may have been possible that Bluepoint could have been kept afloat if they had ported their games (e.g. Demon Souls Remake) to other platforms PC, Xbox, Switch 2 (maybe). It seems Sony's approach to supporting multiple platforms is harming the profitability of their studios to ther point where they have to shut them down.
